Sleep Apnea Symptoms

Sleep apnea symptoms are characterized by a disruption in sleep due to the cessation of breathing during sleep.


Periods of pause or cessation in breathing during sleep is called sleep apnea. It usually occurs in adults but sometimes occurs in children. Diagnosis of sleep apnea is mainly based on the patient’s medical history. However, several tests exist that may be used in confirming the diagnosis. Sleep apnea treatment utilizes the sleep apnea machine for moderate to severe cases of the disorder.


Sleep apnea is a disorder wherein the affected person ceases to breathe during sleep (See:http://diseasesymptomsdiagnosis.com/sleep-apnea-symptoms). Sleep apnea treatment is important because of the serious complications sleep apnea may bring. This may cause cardiovascular problems such as: hypertension, congestive heart failure, and stroke (See: Symptoms of a Stroke). The airway may also collapse because of this disorder which is very detrimental as this may cause death.
