There are many types of thyroid diseases out there. It is actually a very broad topic. In this article though, we would only be focusing on the top 3 and on thyroid disease symptoms. But before we dive into those, let us first look into the organ that is causing all this bother, the thyroid.

Cushings Syndrome

Cushings syndrome is a disorder where there is an excessive production of cortisol inside the body.


Cortisol is a hormone that is released by the adrenal gland which is anatomically located at the upper most portions of the kidneys. This hormone is primarily responsible in supporting the individual in coping with stressful circumstances. It also regulates blood pressure.

Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is a set of disorders that increase the risks of developing cardiovascular problems and Type 2 diabetes mellitus.


Metabolic Syndrome is also called Syndrome X or dysmetabolic syndrome in some literature. Abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, blood glucose tolerance, and insulin resistance are some of the abnormalities associated with this syndrome.
